4/20/2024 - travelme Likes this wine: 93 pointsFrom a 375ml, started slow but as it gained weight picked up steam. Delicious black and red fruit notes with a hint of vanilla. Similar to my last bottle. Really enjoyable on a night where I felt like having just a small glass to complement a steak. |

4/18/2024 - Elkcims Likes this wine: 96 pointsDouble decant and then another hour prior to serving. This is the finest CS I've had from SWB since the 01 vintage. Rich and decadent, sweet plum, dark cherry, cassis, cedar. Full bodied yet elegant. Mild tannins that softened to round tannins round the next day. |

4/6/2024 - Badmonkey wrote: 93 pointsCurious since it’s Thomas Rivers Brown’s first vintage of this wine. Dark ruby fruit - currants, blackberry, dark cherry, and some plum. Smooth mid-palate with solid depth/concentration. Nice rich flavors of cassis, some spice/licorice, cocoa, and a little graphite component. Decent finish but not overly long nor deep - it could use some more time to open-up with the finish which isn’t a surprise in light of its youth. Decanted for four hours and drank over a couple more. Improved a little with time. Drank next to a 2021 Quivet Napa cab on its third day and I thought the Quivet was a couple points better. Nonetheless, a solid vintage of this wine - 93 for me at this youthful stage. 98% cab sauvignon and 2% petite syrah. 1 person found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (2) |

4/4/2024 - davidandrose Likes this wine: 94 pointsPnP from a 375. 30 minutes after pulling the cork there's faint dark but sweet fruit on the nose, accompanied by old cigar leaf. Great grip on the stem. |

3/24/2024 - sastewart wrote: 93 pointsPurchased from the winery and stored at 55 degrees. Opened 30 minutes ahead, would have benefitted from a short decant. Poured blind, this looked and tasted far younger. Nose of pretty flowers, blackberries and just touch of alcohol that disappeared over time. Full bodied with plenty of structure and fruit to last another 5-10 years. Rich blackberry with some licorice. I don't drink many wines like this anymore but this was one of the best I've had. Solid 93 points |

3/15/2024 - AllRed wrote: 89 pointsFriday Group Brown Bag Tasting (R&R's): Double blind. Inky opaque color. Aromas of licorice, cassis, chocolate, cherry cordial and blackberry. Full-bodied, with firm tannins and flavors of blackberry, kirsch and licorice and a lot of alcoholic heat. Guessed petite. I might give this a couple of years and see if the fruit can tame the heat. 89-90 pts. (R&D) |

3/15/2024 - kabert Likes this wine: 94 pointsDynamite! Tastes similar to the 2008 Old Vines - thick, overflowing tasty fruit, decadent. WS review said to drink by 2024, but here in 2024 it’s just hitting its stride - I expect it’ll still be drinking great in 2034. |

The nose was fruit and chocolate. The palate was plums, dark cherry, fig and hints of chocolate. The finish was moderate to long. |

3/1/2024 - Stufonhead wrote: 93 pointsFirst night it couldn't be called fresh but certainly not overripe as these SB PSs can get when they're past peak. With 30 minutes of air it was quite nice. Complex but maybe a tad on the sweet side (grape bubble gum). Agree with prior note, not hot at all, surprisingly. |

2/18/2024 - davidandrose Likes this wine: 93 pointsPurchased upon release; Decanted and immediately followed. Comes across port-like on the nose but incredibly rich and lush on the palate. TONS of sediment throughout the bottle and even after pouring the wien through a strainer; this really needed a coffee filter. |

2/11/2024 - markcic Likes this wine: 93 pointsAt our Super Bowl party, I opened a magnum of the 2014 and a bottle of the 2017 when this ran out. The cork broke so I split the bottle between two decanters and they sat around for a few hours. The nose was dark fruit. The palate was dark berries, some black cherry, tobacco, coffee and hints of chocolate which came out on the moderately long finish. |
